Hi,
Hopefully this late response will help. Yes, Jal Patel is really useful. He did webinar sessions where he went through model answers he’s written for many exam questions relating to each topic in the spec. He goes through the structure and how to answer questions effectively so that you can get the top grades. His revision guide has a bunch of model answers to questions that can come up in exams. Nearer to exams this year he did a predictions webinar and literally all of his predictions were correct for Paper 1 and Paper 2. He doesn’t do US Politics but does Global Politics so I don’t know how accurate predictions were for P3 as I did US. I joined Politics in Y13 and managed to get an A with his help. Totally recommend him to anyone studying A-level politics. You do have to pay for his revision sessions and webinars but it is worth every penny. For anybody doing US Politics, Politics Explained Tutoring has amazing model answers and resources.

This helps a lot! Im in year 12 and just started looking for resources but I do AQA. We do cover US politics but should I still buy Jal Patels resources and join his session?

Ahh that's great!! Hope you are enjoying sixth form so far! Jal Patel's lessons will be good for AQA as well. If you want, you could contact him here: https://www.alevelpolitics.com/contact for further questions you may have. You can use the content in the essays he goes through in the sessions as I am sure it will be useful for all Politics exams. His essay plans are thorough and concise. I did US Politics and used "Politics Explained Tutoring" for predictions and revision. His predictions were spot on and he has really good essay plans. His content will also be good for AQA. I bought a pack of his 12 marker and 30 marker predictions for US Pol which were detailed essay plans and were a great resource for revision. The content used in those essays can be used for other essay questions as well, which he lists below in his resources. Those are Edexcel essay plans but again, he has detailed content and examples which you can use for AQA essays. I would definitely recommend Jal Patel's resources on the UK side, he got me to an A (I was 7 short of an A*) in just a few months when I joined A-level Politics in Year 13, so I really benefitted from his sessions. Picking up a new subject in Y13 was so stressful and I couldn't have done it without his guidance. His book with essay plans are available on Amazon and you can find a link to sign up to the classes on his website. I also recommend Politics Explained Tutoring for US.

Yes of course. Make sure you use contemporary examples to show your knowledge beyond the subject. You need to be very precise with your sociological terminology. Make sure you keep using key sociological terms to show a deep understanding of the concepts. You also need a clear understanding of the question, make sure you actually answer the question and link back to the question at the end of your paragraphs so that it doesn't seem like you are just giving a list of sociological concepts. Definitely remember to evaluate. A lack of evaluation can lose a lot of marks which could affect your overall grade. Make sure you tick all the boxes with your knowledge/understanding, analysis, application and evaluation. If you complete these stages, you should be able to write a really good essay. I suggest practicing a few past paper questions and sending them to your teacher to mark, they will give you detailed feedback which will give you an idea of where to focus your revision on.
