I'm stressed about question 5 for paper 2. The 2024 paper asked to write an article for your SCHOOL magazine. I wrote the article in the perspective of an adult and even said I work in a hospital in it. I think my work was convincing and matched the purpose and I think everything else I done well. How many marks would I be capped at?

If I'm interpreting it correctly, unfortunately not - "differences" ≠ "similarities". HOWEVER, if you mean that you compared differences and did maybe a paragraph on similarities, you can still get marked on your writing because you answered the question, just one small point swayed a bit. I hope this makes sense! :smile:

Hi there, I done similar but in a sort of different way. I said that they both enjoy providing medical care, however for feelings I said that there were different conditions such as they both had different work conditions for example. At first I thought that I would get 0 marks but after a bit of research I was looking at mark schemes and it said this:

AO3 content may include the comparison of thoughts and feelings such as their attitudes to:
• the philosophy • the locations/environments • the accommodation • the difficulties/challenges • the attraction/appeal • the companions • the weather.

I talked about some of these points so will I be able to obtain a few marks?

125 I’m guessing. But just a guess; don’t waste too much time trying to predict

Looks like another case of cheating in mocks… *sighs*

If it isn’t, then ask your teacher.

Don’t cheat though - you might get a false sense of security for a random March test/exam but this will give you a false sense of security and you may end up performing less well than expected in the real thing. Not worth it!!

Omg Guess WHAT!! I did the english mock honestly (it was 2024 btw, so my prediction was right...) and I got an 8 in both lit and lang. Omg I got the report last week and I am still so thrilled. I honestly am still speechless. I never ever thought I was capable of doing so extremely well. English has forever and ever been my weak point. (I've always managed to cheat...) NOT THIS TIME THO!! Thought I'd tell youuuu. So THANKYOU for making me do it honestly, so grateful!!!

GCSEs?

Maths, englishes, triple science, French Spanish history classical Greek and additional maths

9s in everything but Spanish and Greek (which were both 8s)

But yeah super rewarding (I would know with English as well - it wasn’t an easy subject for me)

Hey, you can definitely do it, revise early and prioritise your weaknesses in this half term. I got a grade 9 at GCSE and I', happy to mark any of your work you complete. I currently do AQA A-level Eng lang
