I have a question for q15 I worked out my s.d to be 7.35 I kept doing it and it would let me get 7.38 for some reason so throughout the whole question I used 7.35 will I lose all of question 15’s marks even if I did everything right after? Or was I stupid for not using 7.38 as they mentioned- ps the only reason I stuck with 7.35 was because they said in the second questions ‘use your answers from part a and b’ please let me know ortherwise I might kill my self I already lost 12 marks to the last questions cause I mistook 9y for 9x

first of all, please calm down it is NEVER that serious and you might get method marks but obvs you'd lose quite a few marks. it was quite bold of you to use your own SD rather than take what was given to you but don't stress too much. if you've got other exams just focus on doing well in those. what's done is done and you can't change what you put so just let it go.

I don't remember but if they specified to use answers from ur part a and b, but if they and your answer is as close as it is to the actual answer ( both round to 7.4) I can't see how they could take many marks off of you, apart from calculating standard deviation wrong for the original question - also these questions are at the end of the paper and are put there to make people who are aiming for high grades to make mistakes, you can easily be loosing marks on these questions and still get a great grade - try not to worry too much. The fact you're even attempting the 12 markers and have the right ideas about what to do is great.

Is there any other topics other than numerical methods that anyone thinks will come up?
Reply 7
I love how we are all here for predictions, but the only topic we can collectively come up with is numerical methods.

Have we had a logs/exponential/time graph yet? My mind is blank.

What's the best way to revise for this paper? I have a day to pattern this up.

Press MEI A Level Year 2 Pure, scroll down, and at the end of the list, it says comprehension.

I’m not looking forward to comprehension, I’m not really sure how to revise it, I did some of the past ones in class in a group and I just found it soooo hard, but it’s only 15 marks right

Proofs, trig identities ie. Double angle formulae, show that LHS=RHS style q’s,

im scared about finishing on timeeee. do you guys recommend reading the insert and then answering questions in section B or just going straight to the questions?

personally I like to read over the inset as its normally only 2-3 pages so I can read it in like 1 minute this means I have at least some form of awareness what the questions might be related to. But too be honest most of the time the question it self guides you to the lines in the extract any way.

I usually only read the first half, and then read the second half when it’s necessary.

How is everyone gonna do the paper in terms of timings? Comp first or pure part first, andnd roughly how long should we give ourselves for the comp part?
