Anyone got any good tips for preparing for this paper? I find it so random and hard to interpret the questions. I've done all the past papers but there doesn't seem to be any logic or consistency in what they want.

Thats exactly what paper 3a is desgined to do. Even my teacher said that the actual physics in the paper isnt too hard, its really trying figure out what the question wants you to do that makes it harder than it already is. They want to test your interpretation skills on the spot so every year they make it different. So i guess just do the papers again, and also be confident in your option topic becasue your gonna want to be getting it done fast as its likely youll need to go back to 3A and figure out what the hell they want.

I think SHM and Circular motion gonna come up in paper 3A because there was none of it in paper 1 except for a couple of MCQs so make sure you know the spring and pendulum practicals inside out, besides that I'm not sure yet however to prepare for that paper make sure you know the physics behind the practicals particularly now that they will be referencing which practical each question links to

I was really like I’ll do as good as I can in paper 1 and 2 to cover up for paper 3A: 🤡🤡

Yeah I looked at the poll for the paper 2 thread after posting my reply. I wasn’t expecting 60%+ to be saying that the exam was terrible.
Does anyone have a list of the topics that haven't come up and therefore might come up in Paper 3A.
Currently downloading indeed in preparation for paper 3
What content are you guys revising for section 1? Just all of the required practical + how to take readings and stuff? We didn't do any paper 3 practice at school, i barely even know what to expect (and i can't do the past papers if i dont know any of it!)

This textbook explains everything about the practicals

My teacher said that the rules for the exam board are that the same proportion of people should get the same grades every year so if you're predicted say an A you should get an A. The grade boundaries are probably gonna be lower than last year (which was about 54/85 for an A*) I think so i think we should be fine.
