I have a question regarding student finance for postgraduate studies. Last year, I received only the first installment of funding for a full-time course but decided to drop out. Now, this year, I've been accepted into a part-time postgraduate course. I still owe money to student finance, but only for the first installment, and I am repaying it monthly through a repayment plan. I want to know if I am eligible to apply for student finance for this new course before fully clearing my outstanding balance. How does this work for someone in my situation?

Hi there,

What was the reason you left the previous Postgraduate Course?

Thanks, Drew

Hello Drew , due to health reasons I couldn't commit anymore to the course . Even now the new course i wanted to do is part time distant learning so its easy for me to commit to it.

Hi there,

If you've studied a Postgraduate masters previously but never gained a qualification then you'd be eligible to apply for another Masters course as long as you have CPR: Compelling Personal Reasons as to why you weren't able to complete the course.

I've enclosed further information below: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/going-back-to-uni-or-repeating-a-year

Thanks, Jason
