Have you been camping? Would you go again?

And I'm not talking about a caravan or a canopy with some decking :noway:

This isn't the quidditch world cup :hand:

I'm talking about a tent, sleeping bags, muddy boots, a great big field.

Have you been?
Did you enjoy it?
Would you want to do it again?

I have been camping, but as from someone from London - it took a while to get used to ! I would go again - it's always nice to breath fresh air!

The air quality is REALLY noticeable isn't it? :awesome:

Yeah I've been maybe a dozen times, A few times with the Army Cadets as a teen which was great, get to use all the army gear & ration packs and do fieldcraft and shooting exercises.

A few more times with friends out to forest beaches like Loch Lomond, open fires and whiskey sorts of nights.

A few times for festivals, but at this point I'm old and lazy,. I throw a bunch of old sofa cushions, a cooler and a gas stove into the back of my van and call it a day 😄

While I don't think it's for everyone, esp the full DIY options, I do think it teaches a lot of good skills and responsibility and lets you wake up in some beautiful places should be tried at least once imo.
I live in Wales and I think it's always been wet going camping here, so I wouldn't rush to go again plus I like my creature comforts!

Going camping in Devon in the sun with electricity made a massive difference though!
I did it a couple of times when I was a kid. Last year I went camping for the first time in about a decade or more, in the Lake District. 10/10, would recommend and will definitely do it again!

Yep I have just been on gold Dofe practice two weeks ago. It was in wales, and being classic wales, it was very rainy and muddy! Horizontal rain, muddy bogs, horizontal hail even, and fog (got to thank mountain microclimates). I caught hypothermia twice (but hey that’s something to learn from!), fell in many bogs, but somehow survived. I kind of pity the teacher cause we all probably smelled of mud and cow manure on the way back! But it was quite fun honestly!

Hopefully the June final expedition is nicer (fingers crossed)

Yes, I've been camping a fair amount in the past (Guide camps, DofE, camping with my mum, etc.). I'm currently planning a camp in May to get my camping licence (Going Away With qualification) for Girlguiding UK :h:

I’ve also been on a week long Girlguiding camp in Kent during the summer, that was quite fun as it was also an international scout jamboree so there were many other scouts from all over the world.

That sounds amazing!
Loooong time ago, yes. With a tent, of course! I don't mind to do again. I am open for camping.
Yes. The novelty wears off rapidly I think :x

Yes and yes.

Camped for around 8 months around Australia many years ago (preceded by 6 months in a small campervan in NZ).

Have been camping perhaps a dozen times in this country, but don't like it when it's wet! 😆
