bro I had no idea I think I mentioned something about the particles center of mass. What did you put

I put about how the ball has to be small so that it obeys Stokes Law. 😆 I don't know if I'm really far off or what

Yeah but they add up... I already messed up on the skew lines distance cuz think I wrote the wrong point down

Anyone got any predictions for paper 2?

did you use the equation (a x a) dot ((b x b)/mod(b x b))

Pretty much every topic that wasn't on this one. I feel like it will be more involved and difficult thought. Curve sketching
Inequalities:
MOD/Sum
partial fractions
Volumes of revolution and SA
roots of unity
systems of linear equations
Eigenvectors
Row and column
Inverse matrix
Transformations
One Ellipse on there
Improper integral
L hospitals
Mclaurin
Intersects and areas of vectors
summs of Complex C+iS
argand diagram
Numerical Methods
Coupled DE or SODE PI form
Asymptotes, Oblique
Reduction Formulae
ect

I used (a-c)•(bxd)/|bxd|

expecting eigen values/vect. Some set notation Argand diagram typa thing. Graphing different functions with transformations. anything that didn't come up in Paper 1 (which was quite a lot)

What did you guys get for polar integration? I got 2rt3-1/2(3pi/8+ln2+1)

got that but didn't simplify the natural log part i got 3rt2 -0.5(1+3pi/4 + tan pi/4 + lnsecpi/4) it gives the same value but i left it in ln secpi/4 would that be full marks still?

It asked for exact value so while technically you're not wrong, would you get full marks for leaving an answer of say instead of 8? Bad example ik but point being they usually want it in simplest form ie expanded, rationalised and of course tanpi/4 to be written as 1 however it didn't actually say simplest form, just exact answer so tbh I think you'll get the marks if they aren't picky.

What did you guys put for the limitation of the model in the Second Order Differential Equation question?

I think like it might be something to do with the ball experiencing upthrust because it's submerged in fluid?

are you indicating a lower terminal velocity, this seems like a good reason. Stokes law infers this too I believe

What do you think about the grade boundaries, i think it is going to be about the same as 2022, I thinks it is generally similar to 2022.

What are you thinking about the grade boundary guys.

That will depend on how people found the paper overall.

i found it quite difficult icl, messed up the vector questions, i hate vectors so much. same with the differential equations question

hello

Reply 76

what did you people get for the differential equation one with hyberbolics I think it was y' + ytanhx = sinh^3xtanhx?

With just two days to go until the FM Paper 2, does anyone have any questions or sources they would recommend for good, relevant practice questions aside from past papers? (preferably aqa style too)
