Guys if I wrote a point about Haiti needing ODA (aid) to invest in retrofitting, but I didn't mention the IMF, WB or etc, will I lose marks. My points were weak in presenting how international aid actually occurs. What a sad paper man..
u shld be fine icl cos international action doesn’t explicitly mean world bank imf etc.

What did you guys write for the 24 marker I found it too vague personally

-I spoke about haitis need for loans, linked to the first questions in neighbours and compared statistics with Jamaica and talked about structural adjustment packages n their benefits and disadvantages, how international action is needed for sustainable economy but could mean Haiti gives up its economic sovereignty
-spoke about foreign aid due to its vulnerability to disasters and lack of independence in the Haiti gov, how hazard fatigue puts continual stress on its economy
-Then spoke about opportunities in tourism but limitations and diversifying the economy for a sustainable economy
I just linked all of those back to the wuestion n some extra points but that was the jist

Did anyone mention about Haiti’s corrupt governance in either the 18 or 24 marker?

Omg thank god haha, I got so worried when writing cuz I found the phrasing kind of weird like I wasn’t such which points to focus on in the question!

I was going to as I remembered from GCSE that the government dipped during the 2010 earthquake I think but I thought that’d link to bad political stability due to its colonial past so didn’t use it as I wanted to use it as a counter point, looking back I could’ve just said it as a corrupt government rather than political stability 😭

Still managed to come up with another counter point

did people manage to talk abt players, attitudes and actions, futures etc - i tried to but feel like i didn’t rly focus on it enough

For the 24 marker did anyone talk about international agreements on climate change? I briefly talked about how international action on climate change for example agreements like Paris Agreement 2015 might play an important role in sustaining Haiti’s economy in the long term because of the increasing threat of hydrometeorological hazards which I linked back to section A. Then as an evaluative statement I talked about how these agreements tend to have difficulties due to differing attitudes and actions of players around the world e.g. gas companies are still keen on burning fossil fuels. Idk if this is really relevant to the question though😬

I tried to reference National government very international, and players like igos but not much in attitudes, n in terms of future just spoke about opportunities or threats in different areas

Yup i spoke about paris agreement 2015, it is relevant to the question, quite a few others in my class wrote aboiut the need for climate agreements to improve economic growth as it is one of the underlying conditions

yes!! in both i thiink its the strongest point for any question about Haiti ever. A lot of their problems stem from their lack of a strong government
