I also really want a grade 9 but honestly the boundaries are so high for a 9 I’ll just have to see in August

Sadly for a nine you need to drop barely any marks - hopefully grade boundaries are slightly lower this year and you're right we'll just have to wait and see in August! Good luck! 😄

Thanks! You too!
Yeah because the people that get nines are so good at arguing and remembering, and I think there’s quite a gap between the people that get nearly full marks and the rest- hence the boundaries are so high, but getting a pass isn’t that difficult because sadly a lot of people chose history at GCSE and then either don’t care or just really struggle, there’s a lot of content!
I’ve looked at least years boundaries, assuming paper 3 goes well I’m definitely on for an 8 I think, it’ll be close between and 8 and a 9, got to fight for every mark.
Good luck for English too tomorrow if you’re doing it

Thanks very much!
I completely agree that it's easy to pass and I think I'll achieve at least a 7 which I'm happy with, hoping I achieve somewhere within the 8 or 9 boundaries but we'll just have to wait and see.
Good luck for English too! 😄

ik this is late but do you think i’d be awarded marks for writing that the consequences of the prague spring was 1.soviet strengthens control over eastern europe and 2.usa less trusted by the east/didn’t send military support despite condemning the ussr invasion because im worried it won’t be awarded as my points more consequences of the soviet invasion and not the prague spring itselffff (sorry this is long)

i had the same worry (i actually did the exact same consequences) but after asking my teachers and classmates i was told that that the prague spring itself is the whole event of the uprising and the soviet invasion but either way you would be awarded more than half the marks for giving a valid point and a similar yet still valid point.-as long as all the other questions were solid you will be fine so dont worry about losing only 3 or 2 marks on an 8 marker

I do take Weimar and Nazi Germany yes.
Since last year was on the Weimar Republic mostly (it caused a bit of upset from teachers and students), I think it’ll be back on the Nazis for Q3 (a, b, c and d)
Perhaps it’ll be on Nazi support (they haven’t done the Munich putsch in a while, it might also be on churches- think Concordat, Reich Church (+ confessional church), and then the small New Faith Movement that supported Hitler)
I wouldn’t be surprised if they covered Nazi control (propaganda and censorship), or life in Weimar Germany in terms of art and freedom for women.
But don’t take my word for it, revise EVERYTHING to be sure, so you can be confident walking into the exam room, and also so that no matter what actually happens, you know you’ve done everything you possibly could.
What grade are you aiming for if you don’t mind me asking?
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I also agree with your predictions but I'll still ensure to also go through everything else to secure my marks. I'm definitely feeling ambitious for history lol, so I'm hoping for a grade 9 but I'll settle for an 8.

I thought that the Cold War was brilliant, really liked it. Elizabeth 4 marker about education was fine. I would’ve liked a different 12 marker but I made the most of what I had, and then I did the 1st 16 marker and said that the view was true to a limited extent, then talked about the Puritan crucifix controversy and the vestments in 1565, about how the major Catholic challenges to the religious settlement and her reign came later (after 1568), when MQS came. I also mentioned about how the catholics did not like the royal injunctions (with the book of common prayer) and about how they were one United unit, unlike the puritans who were seperated into the separatists and the Presbyterians.
I’m really hoping for a 9, I’ve worked so hard, so we will see in August. Got to focus on Weimar and Nazi Germany now.

what were the questions??
