Edexcel GCSE HISTORY PAPER 1 (1HI0 10-13) - 15th MAY [Exam Chat]

Icl, this is the easiest paper of the three. Atleast for Crime and Punishment. Sometimes they like to throw spanners at you, but edexcel is honestly tooooo lenient.
Like some of the exemplars my teacher wouldn't give half the marks to. Its also a reason I dont like this board as its too lenient, so grade boundries are insane, and if u get one question messed up, you lose a whole grade. Like for c and P, you can lose 8 marks before you drop a grade, so thats the source question. And thats it. Smh edexcel fix yourself.
Also btw, c and p is much better than medicine. medicine can get very dull sometimes.
Any questions on C and P, especially 1000 - present, feel free to ask.

Paper 1: crime and punishment through time (1000-present) including the historic environment of Whitechapel (1870-1900)

Paper 2 : Early Elizabethan England (1558-88) and The American West (1835-95)

Paper 3: The USA (1954-75); conflict at home (civil rights) and abroad (vietnam war)

I do cold war, elizabeth, Weimar Germany, and Migration.I used the code generator to find the code for this combination, but I still can't find the grade boundaries. Most likelty, you do one of the four, how many marks were needed for a grade 9 in every paper that we share. Because I'm scared that I won't be able to drop a mark to get a grade 9 or even 8. Im told for Elizabeth and Cold war 28 marks. And for Weimar Germany like 46 marks for a 9. Can other people share what their schools say?

Hi, I believe I did the paper in chronological order. However, if you struggle for time, I'd say prioritise the higher mark questions e.g. the 16 and 20 markers. Also, a big tip is that if you are struggling for evidence/ analysis you can reuse things from previous questions, has to be relevant ofc, because your examiner likely only marks one question each. For cold war all I really did was some flashcards, you can find some on quizlet and then memorise the essay structures from youtube videos. Youtube channels like 'learnwise' and 'The History teacher' were lifesavers. I still have all my notes for history in pdf format which I am selling for cheap alongside my exam scripts if anyone is interested!

Cold war and Elizabethan England are worth 32 marks each including spag. Weimar Germany and migration are worth 52 each including spag. But i'm not sure how much is needed or a grade 9 because the grade boundaries change each year depending on how hard the papers were.
