doing 1H (Britain Transformed) - has anyone got any predictions of what may come up?

im going ahead to just make topic summaries on every areas: if I can bring all the info for one area (ie. role of women, industrial relations, etc.) its just easy to go over stuff.

feeling OK abt exam - got a B in the mock so should go ok

Heyy, I’m doing Britain too! Tbh, I think a question on the changing party fortunes, nhs, immigration or industrial relations will come up. I doubt a question on education will since it came up in the exam for the last THREE years, don’t think exam board will make it a 4th year. Praying for a question on the Labour Party to come up 😩

I also noticed how much they asked on education too lol iill be ****ed if they asked it again its been on ALL my mocks but practise I guess.

Im guessing its likely womens/immigration rights will come up or something to do with NHS too tbh. Theres not been much of that too recently to my memory (i dont think theres been an immigration one since 2019). I just hope they do something stupid like evolution to travel or smth that ones stupid lol

My last mock was the 2023 paper and there was a question about political concensus. It may come up but be wary in case it dont!

Yeahhh, I was also thinking maybe industrial relations and I really hope it doesn’t come up. Do you think you’re ready for the exam?

Hahahahahaha nope my teacher was garbage and only now i'm realising how much she missed out of our course but still took FOREVER to teach it. She spent a whole lesson on Notting Hill riots even though theres like 3 sentances on it in the book???

Shes still teaching our last paper but ive just lifted notes from online. Ive made the choice to make flashcards and topic summaries on everything and try practise questions when I can.

Ugh sameee, our class rushed through 1.3, 1.4 and Thactcher, I don’t even think we’re going to finish empire in time and honestly this is all too tiring. I’m also doing practice questions since I need to work on my essay technique a bit more. But yeahh, with enough practice and revision then we should be fine for the exam!

Hello everyone studying this!!
I just wanted to wish everyone good luck and that if anyone has any questions I would love to answer them as I sat this exam last year and received an A*.
I also am selling digital notes for this if anyone is particularly struggling at Tulipstudies on Etsy.
Thank you and good luck 🙂

Hey, I need some advice

How did you structure your days to study for History?

At the moment i’m studying different subtopics from each of my courses each day. (As shown in the attached picture).IMG_0665.jpeg

However, i’m not sure if it’s better to focus on one course at a time. For example, spend this whole week revising Britain and Next week on USA.
Obviously while doing this I’ll use one day each week to recap a previous course in full, so I don’t forget it.

Just want to know your opinion on which revision strategy you think is better, or how you revised!

Thanks!

Just generally prioritise stuff you KNOW will appear on the paper/you are least confident on really. I try to evenly spread what I do but Im prioritising the papers I know are sooner

Just be consistent. I do at least 3hrs history a day (a lot ik but the subject kicks my ass haha) I plan by the time I get to exactly 1 month b4 the exam I put more focus into it.

Any way you do should work. Just make sure you also prioritise getting rest and remember making the revision material is the hardest part, going over it is easy haha

Does anyone know an A* or A level structure for the essays in these history exams, because i'm stuck on a B/A and I really would like to be secure on an A. Any help would be great!!!!

It's typically not structure that separates an A from an A*. Firstly, it's the level of detail. As an examiner, one can see the "wow factor" in that this candidate really knows her stuff. More importantly, however, is argumentation. Are you driving an argument? Are you explaining why you believe what you believe.
