Student finance repayment advice/help

Good Afternoon All,

I have currently completed 150 credits at University level. (60 Level 2 and 90 Level 1) and am now considering resuming my studies with the Open University to complete my undergraduate degree in Business Management.

All of my modules are mapped out, they cost as per the below;-

Level 1 30 credits - £1818
Level 2 60 credits - £3636
Level 3 120 credits - £7272

My question are based around the fact that I am in full time employment and earn over the threshold already, although with financial dependents in my children;-

1- Can I apply for student finance?
2- My degree (part time) would finish in either 2028 or 2029 - would repayments start only after my degree is completed?
3- How do I calculate back the rates I would pay and how long this takes to pay off?

Thank you in advance or anyone's support, I'm new to this.

Hi there,

If you can avoid multiple messages as we respond to all messages in date order of originally sent. We will always respond the next working day.

When does your course start? If it's from September the part time applications will be live from late spring for you to apply on.

Your repayments begin the April after you graduate and once you're earning over the threshold. For any other repayment queries you can find these here: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/student-finance/loan-repayment

The repayments are a different department so we're limited to the knowledge and information we're able to provide. Should you have any other general repayment queries you can contact the team here:

Thanks, Jason

Thank you. As per the above I am studying part time with the OU and do not graduate until 2028/2029.

I am already earning over the threshold, when will repayment be taken?
