why does my scalp smell after going outside?

Every time I go outside, especially with my hair down my scalp smells so bad. It's kind of like a metallic smell? It's really frustrating because I don't want anyone coming near me in case they can smell my hair. This even happens when I go out, right after washing my hair. Yet everyone else's hair smells fine when they have it down? It doesn't really happen if I don't go out. My scalp only smells somewhat fine (As long as I don't go out with my hair down) if I use a specific hydrating shampoo - all other shampoos make my scalp smell terrible.

In fact, this is also the case for my face - whenever I wash my face, if I don't put a specific suncream on my face, my face smells really bad and gets greasy. Some facial products make my skin smell EVEN WORSE. This also happens when I wake up in the morning, so I always make sure that my window is open... It's so embarrassing. I've been experiencing this for YEARS, ever since I got into skincare and haircare when I was 12-13. What can I do????
The metallic smell could be due to a variety of reasons, including an overgrowth of yeast or bacteria on your scalp, excess oil production, or even a reaction to certain hair products. Using a hydrating shampoo that works for you is a good start. You might also consider using a medicated shampoo containing ingredients like ketoconazole or zinc pyrithione to help control odor-causing microbes.
