PGCE Primary Early years interview

Hello!
I was wondering if someone had any knowledge about the PGCE interview with Birmingham uni? My interview is a couple of weeks away (its online). I'm planning to apply to others but I haven't decided which unis yet. If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it! Thank you.
Hi @yeiarafa

Congratulations on receiving an interview!

I assume you're talking about the University of Birmingham? What a brilliant university!

I am currently in my third year of Education Studies and have many classmates who have successfully completed their PGCE interviews at Birmingham university.

I believe their interviews were all in person, so it might be a little different for you if you say it's online. I would take some time to prepare some answers to general interview questions such as: Tell us about yourself. Why do you want to be a teacher? What are your strengths and weaknesses?

There might also be some questions where they want you to describe a situation where, for example, you overcame a challenge or helped an individual. Prepare some scenarios using the STAR method (A quick Google search will explain this method if you haven't heard of it before).

They will also ask questions specifically about your personal statement, so make sure you read it beforehand so that it is fresh in your mind

And finally, as stressful as interviews may seem, just try to relax and enjoy it!

Good luck!
