Penalty Fare- I appealed will i be successful?

i put I feel like i have been wrongfully put for this penalty fare as i did tap my bus card on the reader when travelling but when tried to show for my proof it did not work as it said failed which must have been due to internet due to being on the train which then tried to type my name up on the reader which didn’t work which must have been because my name on my passport is different to my name which i can prove on my bus card which could be the reason and i can not afford to be fined with £54.80 which i believe was wrong and as i am only 16 while still in education. The picture of my bus card is rubbed out which i should say it’s Ali Asghar Mohammad” will my appeal be successful?
Hard to day tbh as is pretty vague, are you being fined for the bus or the train? If your bus card us is in a different name with the pic removed it sounds a bit suss,

There's no point putting stuff like being 16 or a student as they're not grounds for appeal and the rules apply to all, it might even annoy the person reading and considering it.

i’m being fined for train but my name on my passport is different to the one on the bus card as it’s just a single letter that’s different but i provided proof that it’s true with my passport and my bus card

Is your "bus card" actually valid on a train?

If you have a card that needs to have a photo on it, then it can't be surprising that it's not going to accepted if the photo has worn off. There will inevitably be a suspicion that it's not really your card (or at the very least that it might not be yours).

Why is your name not spelled correctly on the card?

You need to get your card replaced so this doesn't happen again.

Does the penalty fare you've been issued indicate the specific reason it was issued?

You might be able to get some more advice at the "Disputes & Prosecutions" section of the RailUKforums site at https://www.railforums.co.uk/forums/disputes-prosecutions.152/ The team there are very experienced and friendly at offering advice on how to proceed in this sort of case.

in london bus cards work for trains too that’s why i say my bus card which i should’ve said my oyster/zip card, the photo on my bus card is not that worn off which you can see it’s my face and it’s me it’s just a bit rubbed off making it hard to see, and my name isn’t correct on my bus card is because my dad spelt it wrong when signing it up couple years back and i only realised a while ago but you can clearly see i own it and matches my passport due to various things like my street address and date of birth attached

So what was the specific reason that was given (in writing) for issuing the penalty fare?

Did you have credit on your account? If you didn't, maybe that's why your tap-in failed. (I'm not familiar with the Oyster system.)

I'll repeat my suggestion that you should head over to RailUKforums -- see the link I gave in my first reply.

But as @StriderHort says, your age and student status won't be relevant here. There may be other grounds you can appeal on, and the folks at RailUKforums will be able to advise on how to appeal and what grounds you might (or might not) be able to use. Ultimately, though, you probably need to work on the basis that you'll need to pay the penalty fare (and be aware that a full penalty fare is £100 plus the unpaid fare, with a £50 reduction if paid within 21 days -- which is presumably where the £54.80 you mention has come from).

You say you tapped on a reader; where was this and did you check your card had been accepted?

How do you type your name on a reader when you're on the train?

Oyster uses RFID and you're supposed to tap in prior to the journey, so how does Internet come into it?

Your appeal isn't clearly written, so isn't supporting your case.
