year 10 work experience

im about to start work experience but im not sure if specific places accept year 10’s or not, as its easter sunday and tomorrow is easter monday, majority of places will be closed and im on a deadline to send my placement things to the school for them to check and verify. i m interested in veterinary, so maybe somewhere like goddards? but im not sure if they accept year 10’s, im completely lost and have no idea where to start. im also thinking somewhere like vue? im pretty sure i saw someone say a while back on this site they would accept year 10’s, but what would i even do there??

Honestly if I was you I wouldn’t worry about work experience as a year 10 it’s more of a year 12-13 thing when you’re more interested in a specific field. If you’re still interested I’d recommend writing emails to places that you are interested in otherwise I would worry for now since you most likely won’t gain anything useful from it. 🙂

I would just visit places or phone around and see if there's anywhere that will take you on work experience. I wouldn't worry about doing too much as there's not an awful lot they will let you do at that age. Animal shelters and rescues, vets, stables, farms, kennels, pet shops and dog groomers are all places you could try.

oh i see, its just that my school has done a deadline for the end of the easter break and im no where near in even securing a random place, its compulsory after all, but this helped! i wont focus much on this then rather the ones for later years, thank you!!

no problem! I see now that it is compulsory for some schools since Ive never really heard of it now until recently. Best of luck in securing a place!
