Things to look forward to in Kingston this summer!

Now that the weather is (hopefully) starting to get a bit warmer, I thought it could be a great chance to embrace the seasonal changes! If you’re anything like me you probably LOVE summer and here are a couple of things you can do to make the most of your summer here in Kingston!

One thing I’m looking forward to this summer is an affordable way to soak up the sun with friends. In Kingston town there is a number of places to grab a light bite to eat in or take away before heading down to the Queen’s promenade to sit and chat with friends. You could even grab an ice cream or a drink to enjoy the gorgeous view of the river! Just remember to take some sun cream 😂.

For those of you who want some greenery then this plan is also a great one to take to the local parks whether it’s Richmond, Bushey or Claremont Gardens, there are some great picnic locations!

Prepping for a holiday or wanting some summer staples? Why not make a day of it by heading out for some lunch and having a browse around all the shops and the Bentalls Centre!

And if you’re looking for a bit of shade without the temptation of spending in the shops then go and check out the Stanley Picker Gallery. Located on the Knights Park campus, the gallery often has events on and is a great place to have a little look around! If you’re interested I would definitely look on their website to see what’s on!

What are you planning to do this summer ?

Are there any opportunities to meet new people over the summer as I am staying and most of the people I know have gone back home so wondered the best way to meet people?

Hi @Shaz1976

Like you, other people will be staying over summer so you definitely won't be alone and I am sure they are wanting to meet new people like you are.

I would also recommend applying for jobs. This could be a way to get out and socialise with other people in Kingston over summer, making new friends and earning some extra money! Kingston is also really good for employment, and as you said lots of people have gone home for summer so more opportunity for open jobs.

I hope this helped,
