AQA Alevel Englit NEA coursework

My coursework essay is at around 2750 words so still about 10% to cut according to the 2500 word limit set by the examboard. Is there a certain % we can go over without getting points marked off? Or is it a must to stick to the 2500 word limit? Thanks!

Hi! Many of my friends had this when handing theirs in. Our teacher said that it could be ‘self-penalising’ because you should be able to write it in the word count, but it does not warrant for marks to be taken off simply because of the word count. Essentially i think its because the exam board think it’s easy to end up being repetitive or waffling if you’ve gone over the limit, but i don’t see why it would be an issue if your extra words are adding to your argument. Most of my friends also just left their word counts as is if that helps

Hi, I am 300 over the word count and this is after cutting it down by 700 words. My teachers have said that this is fine because none of it is waffling/it is all good content so as long as you are clear and concise in your argument, they won't penalise you.
