can someone mark my english language question 5 please (40)

The bridge lay secure below the zooming cars, the clattering shoes of exhausted office workers and the myriad of businessmen scuttling past each other to get home. A cascade of birds flew past, calmly gazing at the chaos that hung below them, whilst the sun settled slowly, whispering ‘goodnight’ to mark the end of another busy day. The moon, hiding behind its soulmate began to emerge as the city’s guardian for the next 12 hours.

As more cars flew past, as more people happily collected their things to return to their loving families, as more shoes cried in agony as they were aggressively smacked against the concrete floor with every step, a wave of happiness captured the city. Buildings lit up, smiles radiating off their beaming faces. All whilst the sky grew darker.

The clock tower struck 5. With no hesitation it alerted the city, exclaiming that another dreadful hour of this day had passed with its monotone chimes. The shops shut their doors, unleashing an eruption of customers who had lost track of time amongst all the disarray. The smell of coffee and fresh, warm doughnuts from closing cafes, lingered through every misaligned street, striking each passer-by with a shot of hunger and eagerness to return home.

The taste of lethal gas from heaving cars suffocated the people as they walked past rows of traffic that stood as long as the universe. Honks and exasperated yells engrossed the city as people’s insides screamed for the comfort of their own houses. Frustrated fingers gripped mobile phones to call mums, dads, husbands, wives and children as the traffic in front of them moved as slow as a tortoise.

Bus doors opened and closed as workers were released from their bus journeys that had lasted years. Trains scrambled from station to station and with every honk and every chug an impatient sigh was heard from an overwhelmed and annoyed passenger. Tube stations consisted of thousands of people deep below the surface of the earth, waiting for the arrival of their ride home to be announced. The tubes; scuttling from station to station alike the busy trains welcomed millions of passengers with no objection.

Doors flew open as excited children welcomed their parents’ home, abandoning the pile of homework that stood as tall as a mountain upstairs in their bedrooms. The hob in the kitchen unleashed a wave of smells as a variety of meals were cooked from door to door ready to be eaten with urgency. The sky, still quite bright, smiled as it said farewell, disappearing into some other universe, waiting to awake the world again tomorrow.

The moons natural glow lit up the night sky as it engulfed the clear blue sea that it would soon consume entirely. The stars, a sign of hope and joy for many hung high up, aching to explode with excitement. Soon there was to be silence. A bubble of peace would circulate the city as tired mothers would put their children to bed, as families would clear up their dinner plates, as curtains would be drawn, and as lights would be switched off to signal the end of another fragment of this never-ending cycle.
