Newcastle Accommodation?

Hi, I'm going to study at Newcastle uni next next year and I was wondering which accommodation is best? I've been looking at park view mainly but 178 a week seems too expensive. Ideally I'd stay in halls somewhere social, ensuite room, 6/8 other students and close to the Fine art studios. Thank you!

Hi @artful-avowal

Firstly congratulations on your offer to study at Newcastle University!

It is quite difficult to say which accommodation is 'best' because everyone has different preferences. What is great about Newcastle accommodation is the wide variety of choice you have available.

All of our accommodation is within a 20min walk from the centre of campus - which is where the Fine Art studios are - so regardless of where you apply you will still be close to your buildings. We also have lots of en suite options, Park View is very popular but if you are looking for somewhere cheaper I would suggest Windsor Terrace which is close to campus, sociable, has en suite rooms and is cheaper than Park View.

The best place to go is our Accommodation Website which has all of the options available - you can also filter by room type and other things. Take a look at the virtual tours too!

I hope that helps,
Jeremy 😀

We went on an offer day, park view is nice, but also Maris House, 6 flats in a house, 3 each side, Kitchen and lounge in the middle. Shared separate shower and toilet between 3 each side. But you did have a sink in your room. Downstairs study areas and tv room. Even had a washing machine in kitchen. Think the price per week is approx 140.00, it was nice and a reasonable price. Daughter is going to firm soon, she liked Park View, Maris House, Kensington Terrace for the ones near the Uni, although there are others more in the city. Not that far to walk, as it took us only about 20 mins to walk from city centre train station to uni anyway

What does the uni do about mature students and accommodation? Do you try to group them by age similarly or is it completely varied?
