How far would i get if i did an accounting apprenticeship as a school leaver?

I havent left school let but i will be soon. Im thinking ill get a 6 or above in maths. I really want to become a chartered accountant or something high in accounting but i dont know if the apprenteship would get me there or if i have to do A levels instead.

U can do an accounting apprenticeship straight out of Secondary School however I wouldn’t recommend, do alevels so you have a better range of companies you can apply for, most firms take in around CCC-BBB alevel grades, especially the big4 accounting firms, definitely do your alevels.

Hey there,

It is certainly possible to become a chartered accountant through an accounting apprenticeship.

While there are a number of accountancy apprenticeships at various levels (including those at level 3 which you could in theory do immediately after school), I agree with Htfvhh and recommend completing A-Levels first.

Many of the best apprenticeships (given your desire to become a fully chartered accountant) require a minimum of CCC at A-Level. After this it will be possible to go onto a level 4 or 7 apprenticeship programme, enabling you to study directly towards your chosen accountancy qualification and become a fully chartered accountant more quickly than if you studied accountancy at University.

________
PS.
I did an accountancy apprenticeship after my A-levels with the Civil Service, and qualified as a chartered accountant with the ICAEW last year.
thankyou would i be able to do my a levels and appretecship at the same time
