Knee injury - advice pls

Hi everyone,

I know I need to consult a medical professional for advice but that isn't really getting me anywhere so would appreciate any advice.

I hurt my knee about 3 weeks ago after hyperextending it at gymnastics, couldn't weight bear and swelled straight away so went to A&E who X-rayed (no fractures) and sent me away with crutches and a referral to the knee clinic. I saw them (about 10 days after the injury) who said it was too early to tell what was going on referred me for physio and will see me again end of April and "consider" doing an MRI then. They also wanted me to come off the crutches ASAP.

Long story short is there anything I can do? I'm desperate to get off the crutches. I also don't have any sort of support or brace, is there anything I could get to help with this so I can get off the crutches?

Thank you in advance for any advice 🙂

As you said, consult a medical professional.

These are all questions you should be asking the medical professionals who saw you in the hospital, not children on a student forum...

Unfortunately even though you may not have broken anything, you might have injured yourself quite badly still, so it could take a while to heal. Please don’t rush to ‘get better’ as you could potentially make it worse. I recently injured my knee, and not to scare you but what I thought would originally take 2 weeks to heal has taken 5 months and counting🥲

Hey there! I'm really sorry to hear about your knee injury. From my experience, it's crucial to prioritize rest and gentle movement. Also, consider adding vitamins known for joint health. Relaxation techniques can help manage discomfort. While awaiting your next clinic visit, perhaps try a supportive ointment. As for me, I prefer to order everything in pharmacies, and sometimes even online. I am most satisfied with the Canadian Pharmacy B2B format. For me, it's a quality indicator, very convenient and effective. Always consult a doctor for personalized advice. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
