COVID vaccines as a NHS worker

Hi,

I'm looking at applying for courses that have placements in the NHS, but I'm unvaccinated (my mum is very anxious and fell into the anti-vax pit and got very very strict with it, really spooked us). I know it's 'highly encouraged' (so I'm assuming, essential) for people working in the NHS. Does anybody know where to find where they may be doing shots please, as I've looked all over the internet and can't find anything. Thanks

Hello, fellow nhs worker here…it’s not essential for us to have it but highly encouraged. They will vaccinate on site for you at any placement if you wish to have it- you would just book appointment via occupational health - over winter they do drop in flu vaccination clinics where you could have covid at same time if you wanted to. It is entirely your choice though, you will likely have to have an occupational health screening disclosing your vaccination history. They will insist you are upto date with hep B, rubella, BCG etc as far as I am aware.(not so much flu or covid vaccines) hope that helps ☺️
