hey so you could talk about left and right realism
Left realism is more left wing
the concepts for left wing can be: marginalisation, relative deprivation and subcultures
the concepts for right wing are: broken window theory, rational choice theory and the underclass
right realism essentially blames the individual for committing crime whereas left wing emphasise community orientated programmes for controlling and reducing crime
Good luck!

Intro - outline realism, e.g. came about because the typical theories didn't provide any actual solutions
P1 - left realism - causes of crime: marginalisation, relative deprivation and subcultures; its application to the intro. of the NMW during the new labour gov., and criticisms
P2 - right realism - causes of crime: rational choice theory/ broken windows theory/ underclass. their applications to policy, e.g. higher levels of CBOs, stricter sentencing. and criticisms
P3 - left realism - solutions to crime: community prevention, e.g. Sure Start centres, Farringdon (i forgot the year); and the criticisms
P4 - right realism - solutions to crime: situational crime prevention and the criticisms of this.
Conclusion: how useful are they in ur opinion?

this is how i'd answer it, but make sure u tailor it to the question. e.g. if it asked about realist SOLUTIONS, focus on that. make sure to evaluate throughout, including reference to other theories e.g. marxism or postmodernism, and how effective the solutions are.
right realism is quite easy to eval, especially if u use Murray's points, because it can be linked to the New Right and the various criticisms of that perspective too. hopefully this helps!
