Acne

I've had acne for about 4 years now. I've tried a lot of different treatments and benzoyl peroxide helped me a lot. But about 6 months ago it stopped working and the doctor told me I was probably resistant to it now. So they gave me adapalene. I've been using it for 3 months now but only used it daily since the past 2-3 weeks as I was building up my tolerance to it. But I noticed my skin looks really bad right now and if anything worse. What do I do?

Hi!! Do you use the adapalene all over or more like a spot treatment? If its the latter, maybe try the former? Sometimes an ingredient just won't work with you though. For more info and tips I really recommend Dr. Shereene Idriss on YouTube! She makes really easy to understand videos. She has so many videos on all types of skin issues and might have something new you can try. https://www.youtube.com/@shereeneidriss
I also would recommend looking into Korean skincare, I've added a lot of great Korean products into my routine after some research and I really do love how the results look. Make sure you're keeping your skin hydrated and to wear sun screen as well as to not irritate your acne further. I hope you find something that works for you!!!

Push your GP for help, including referral to a dermatologist if things aren’t working. The GP tends to let things linger on with useless treatments not appreciating the anguish acne causes. Personally the only thing that helped me was a referral that lead to some effective treatment

I'm sorry to hear about your struggle with acne. It sounds tough. It's good that you've been working with your doctor and trying new treatments. If your skin is getting worse, it might be time to go back to your doctor for advice. They might adjust your treatment or offer other options. In the meantime, some people find that drinking celery juice helps with acne. It’s worth trying, but always talk to your doctor first. I hope you find something that works well for you soon! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.

Try taking Astaxanthin supplements for a couple/few months. Can get them from bulk supplements dot com ,and only £8 delivery from us to uk. Also would be worth researching Astaxanthin face cream and/or Probiotics for acne.

You should totally get DUAC DAILY SPOT CREAM
I used to be a right pizza face and it sorted it out for me, I never had cystic acne though
It takes about 6 weeks to work and you have to apply it every night after you’ve washed your face

Oh that’s a shame, I would just go to a dermatologist, or have a look at Korean skin care - they’re experts over there when it comes to skin care and surgery that can make you look like a different person!

It's necessary to consult your doctor or dermatologist for advice. When I had acne, I found it helpful to discuss my concerns and treatment options with a healthcare professional. Currently, I'm using Retin-A Cream (for example, find it at Canadian Pharmacy B2B), which has shown positive results for me. However, everyone's skin is different, so what works for one person may not work for another. Your doctor can consider your specific situation and recommend the best course of action.

This is why I’m currently going through!!!
Ask GP to refer you to Dermatologist and try for accutaine. Myself and several members of my family went through years of acne, before it's miracle cure. There is a mental health risk and it is very drying, but tbh as soon as I saw it working (one or two months) my mental health improved enormously.

Accutaine or Roaccutain as it used to be called is high dose vitamin A. So whilst you are waiting it would do no harm to really try to increase your consumption of foods high in Vit A (green leafy veg etc), increase the microbiotics in your diet etc.

Hope your skin improves for you soon, whatever treatment you decide.
Roaccutane
Drink more water.
