The only thing I'm really worried about is family trees and identifying the genotypes/phenotypes. I always get them muddled up 😕

for phenotypes I just remember the 'ph' is the same as in 'physical' in that it shows physically

Hello!

Does anyone know if we need to remember the equations for enzyme reactions of degradation reactions and synthesis reaction.
Like hydrogen peroxide —catalase——-> Oxygen + water (HP COW)
And so on. Do we need to know those?

It would be appreciated if I could get a POV from anyone!

Phenotype - physical - physiology - External Characteristics
Genotype - Genetic - Molecular level - intrinsic Character

I don't think its hard to remember some equations, just put a story that will help you remember the equation when you don't remember it directly. Like the reaction uses catalase Which is a catalyst in the reaction, hydrogen peroxide is H2O2 which could be said, stable but can form H2 and O2 that just look H2-O2 degradation (Breakdown) of molecules - and that is done by a catalyst to make the reaction faster. Easy 🥧 pie

Question for everyone.
For drawing graphs, do you put dots or X's for the points? Which is better?
I'm asking as different teachers have told me different things about how to draw the points, and my writing/points are usually big so I don't want to lose marks 😅

IMO, x's 100%
my teacher is an sqa marker, and i remember losing marks for drawing dots on graphs too big/drawing them slightly out of the graph. obv u wont lose marks for using dots, but with x's its much more easier to plot the points

Hi  do you know which equations you do need to memorise?

for the enzyme reactions, you don’t need to know any of them. Equations like the photosynthesis reactions or respiration pathways you’d need to know, or the oxyhaemoglobin one

Ahh okay thanks!
Hello everyone! How did you all find the paper? I thought it wasn't that bad and I think I did good - apart from the 4 mark question. I didn't feel like I had 4 marks worth of things to say haha.

Omg same I don’t know if what I wrote is four marks worth it was such a random one they usually like a process or something u can write about

I think it went well for me overall but some questions were quite confusing at first but I ended up putting the right answers in the end. The 4 mark question was also iffy to me as I didn’t even know how to answer it I just put some terminology and facts on food chains that I knew, related it to the question and hoped for the best lol
