Changing details on student finance

Hey guys, so im pretty sure i messed up my student finance thing by not putting my parents full name as the person who was supporting the application, Ive been trying to look for a way to change the details so that my parent can do the financial assessment but it seemed like the only way was contacting them. The problem is this live chat seems to literally never have an agent available and when i called on the phone none of the number options it gave me covered my issue. If anyone has gotten into the live chat or managed to change details some other way then it would be appreciated to let me know!! thanks

if you use the live chat and say it doesnt answer your question it gives you a real person to talk to and on the phone you should select the option where it says enquiry for online application and then you call inform them

The live chat never actually brings me to a chatbox even with a bot, it just sits there saying "you're up next! Connecting.." and literally never connect lol. Ill probably have to call them seems like

i think it depends on what time you do the chat box. after 8pm their lines are shut off. when i did it worked

Please don’t worry, you definitely won’t be the only person who will have done this before or even this year. It’s probably an easy fix for SFE, so it will be okay!

I would suggest trying to ring them and selecting an option that is best suited to you. You can then explain the person at SFE, the issue and they maybe able to put you through the correct place/department.

I would make sure when you ring them you have your reference number, as they will ask you for this and probably also a security question related to your account, to make sure it’s you that is ringing.

I’ve never used the live chat option before, but I’m pretty sure that by ringing and selecting a option (even if it’s not directly related) is probably a quicker way to get your issue resolved. I’ve found in the past when I’ve used live chats, with any company/ organisation, that it’s hard to fully explain the issue and things can get lost in translation.

The live chat for SFE is a good option (and seems to be manned by more experienced staff than the helpline).
