AQA biology and chemistry a level resources

I’ve decided to take A Levels in Biology and Chemistry as a mature student. The aim is to then apply for medicine degrees.

I plan to study independently (possibly with a bit of private tuition) and wondered if you can recommend any useful resources outside of the official AQA course books? I’m 32 so I’m sure educational resources have come a long way since I last used them 🤣

The best resource for me is always youtube videos! Miss Estruch does amazing videos for biology including all of the required practicals and Allery Chemistry is great for chemistry. There are a lot more but these 2 are my go to's. Good luck and I hope this helped in some way

I totally agree! I would also recommend online resources for past papers such as Physics Maths Tutor, and also the CGP Exam Practice Workbooks!

CGP revision guide is AMAZING! Physicsandmathstutor, AlleryChemistry, Cognito are some of the best ones. I'm not sure whether it has a subscription or not but for Chemistry, my school uses Chemsheets so that might be useful.

Not sure about CGP guide for Bio because I do Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and CompSci so no Bio but Cognito and Physicsandmathstutor are good for it too!

I wish you the best of luck!

Hello, not much of an answer but I've decided to study A levels as a mature student with the aim to study medicine. I am currently looking between cloud learn, up learn and learn now college (All seem to have several negative reviews). Are you planning to study over the normal 2 years or fast track a single year?

DON'T USE UP LEARN....it's the biggest waste of money there is and it's sort of makes you think you're revising when in reality you aren't. I have a friend that did it for our mocks in March in Chemistry, Maths and Physics and he did only Up learn everyday and he actually went down a couple of grades.
