Online Top Up Degree Student Finance Question

Hello

Please can you confirm whether I would be eligible for student loan for online top up degree 18 months long, Business Management at Northumbia University. I am planning on starting in July or October 24.

I haven't got a degree but I have and Adult Advance Loan from student finance for my previous AAT studies which I am paying off.

If so, when do applications for student finance open - is it in May as I have checked and application for part time degree start in May - does online top up class as part time ?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I am guessing as it will be online (distance learning) top up degree so it will be classed as part time?

I hold CIMA Diploma Operational Level professional qualification (which I believe is Level 5 academic equivalent). I haven't got any previous degrees (but I am eligible to top up my CIMA diploma to degree level), so this would be my first application for degree level student finance ( course will be 18 months long - undergraduate top up distance learning degree). I am paying off Advance Learner Loan I took to finish my AAT studies a few years ago. AAT course was FE course, not higher education course.

Would I be eligible to apply for student loan to cover this online top up degree ?

Hi there,

Thanks, based on what you've said you should be eligible for funding for this course.

To know for sure we'd definitely recommend making an application online and we'll be able to confirm this to you with a final decision.

For example, if you decide to start in July then it's a 23/24 application that you'll need, and these are available now.

Thanks, Graeme

Great, thank you. How about if I want to start in October 2024 - is online 18 month top up degree classed as part time so do student finance applications open open up in May 24 ?

Hi there,

The Part Time applications for 24/25 will be live in May so you would need to apply then.

Thanks,
Ross
