Do extracurriculars matter?

Hi,

I'm in the second year of my undergrad and I want to have a strong profile when I apply to the masters.

I'm studying history and I wanna apply to the MPhil History of Science, Technology, and Medicine. Are there any activities that I should be looking into to help boost my application?

Grades are the most important thing, then a strong research proposal, good references, and evidence of an interest in the narrowing of the field, ie taking the appropriate modules at UG that best prepare for PG, doing a dissertation that is relevant. Outside that, there's not much to do, read some books, consider any additional lectures, conferences etc you might be able to attend that demonstrate your focus.
