Self-catered accommodation at Nottingham

I'm currently looking at accommodation for Nottingham and self-catered and ensuite is a must for me. I'll be studying liberal arts on the university park campus and the only place I've seen is Broadgate Park which I'll most likely apply for but was wondering if anyone could give me any recommendations for others close by. I'm also interested to know whether many people study on university campus but live on or nearby Jubilee campus. I don't want my accommodation to be out of the way, especially after a night out if everyone else is going back to the main campus and I would have to go back to Jubilee on my own. If anyone could give me any advice or suggestions that would be great

Hi! I'm not a student of notts yet but I'm almost definitely firming it for econ so i've been chatting to a lot of current students i know about where to stay, i have the same requirements as you and my course is also on university park. I've been told that there's tons of people that make the walk/bus journey from accoms closer to jubilee campus to university park because the vibe and social aspects of those access are better but defo have a look into each one yourself! I'm personally putting notts two and probably sps as my top, hope that helps xx

Hi there fellow liberal arts student! I'm so happy to find other people studying such a niche course at Nottingham. I've just applied for my self catered accommodation and went for Albion, Broadgate and Dagfa (I thought about Jubilee accom but decided against it in the end). what did you end up choosing?

Hello!

Living off-campus is rather common among most students (especially after your 1st year). You will see a significant amount of students living in Lenton, which is very close to Jubilee Campus but it takes between 15 to 30 minutes to reach University Park campus from Jubilee on foot. In the following link you will see a map that will give you an idea of the distances between both campuses(Jubilee is located at the top right of the map): University Park Map

As pointed out in the thread, you may also take the Hopper Bus, which is very convenient and used by a lot of students to commute (Hopper Buses).

Feel free to contact us if you have more questions!

All the best,
Abian.

Just trawling through the posts. Interested to know what accom you got allocated and how you are finding it. Also when making choices do you have to choose seperate sites or can you choose different types of rooms within the same place? Thanks

Hi there! I got allocated Albion through an email (just a heads up, it's managed by Broadgate so at first glance looks like you got Broadgate), and I've found it great! It's small and quiet but literally right next to Sainsbury's, Lidl and a couple of minutes from Tesco. Broadgate (and Dagfa) have the advantage of being close to campus but it's quite a trek to carry lots of shopping back from Beeston. Other perks of being in Beeston itself are the shops and high street, the tram to the uni and town, and the train station is great for me as well, plus I feel part of a big community than just a student one. For me the advantage of being close to shops and Beeston outweighed being closer to campus as I don't mind walking/getting the tram (its a 4 minute/2 stop journey to the main uni stop) which is great. I think you can choose different types of room in the same place, but don't quote me on that. I just wanted a single room, didn't mind sharing a bathroom and wanted it as cheap as possible and as close to the shops as possible. Hope this helps, I'm super happy to answer any other questions you might have about the uni, accommodation, Nottingham, anything!
