Cardiff!
(but I'm biased as I went there!)
I would say go away from home and learn to be independent, but that's if you asked me 30 yrs ago when I did.
Now, I would say staying at home and going to Cardiff (which always comes out in the top pharmacy schools along with Manchester and Bath, and the London ones) would save you an awful lot of money.
You can make friends with people on your course, get a cheap sleeping bag and kip on their floor in halls (check the rules first though!!) if having a Big Night Out.
Cardiff used to have a pharmacy students society/club and they were really good at organising events to get to know people, and it really helped foster a good atmosphere during lectures etc.
One thing you could do is talk to your family that you live with, about the financial situation, but also that if you stay at home then university isn't like school, and your lifestyle will change. You certainly shouldn't be put off going out, especially with new friends off your course, or staying out for a night/weekend.
It's a difficult decision I agree, I left home because I had incredibly strict parents, but I could have stayed and caught the train to Aston everyday, then got a flat in Birmingham when I qualified.
I suppose it boils down to how well off are you/family to pay the accom fees and living expenses like food and how much you can tolerate living there, as an adult, and then move out for pre-reg/the foundation year when you're earning a wage.
Anyway, good luck and hope this helps a bit?!
