You should be fine, it’s usually only maths and English they care about

As long as they’re above a five you should be good, although some require a 6 in English and maths so double check the entry requirements for each one

Yes. Occasionally, universities will look at your full GCSE grade profile (especially the very competitive ones), but normally you just need to meet the minimum standard they specify for GCSE Maths and/or GCSE English Language. For Electronic Engineering at the universities you've listed, those grades are absolutely fine; evidence below.

University of York: "GCSE/IGCSE/O level English Language (as a first or second language): Grade C / Grade 4" (source)
Royal Holloway: "At least five GCSEs at grade A*-C or 9-4 including English and Mathematics." (source)
University of Surrey: "GCSE or equivalent: English Language at grade 4 (C)." (source)
University of Nottingham: "GCSE English grade 4 (C)." (source)
University of Sheffield: "GCSE English Language at grade 4/C". (source)

(Note that the reason they typically don't specify a GCSE requirement for Maths is because they require it at A level.)

Your A level subjects are fine for all fine too.

Hi there,

As per your chosen course page, you hit all the requirements to be accepted at Surrey, as long as you achieve the A Level grades asked for.

I wish you the best with your studies, and I hope to maybe see you here at Surrey 🙂
