Doing A-Level Maths in 1 year - can I get a good score on the TMUA?

Hi everyone, I'm aiming to take on A-Level Maths (+ FM?) in a gap-year from July onwards. But as I've seen some courses which require the TMUA that pique my interest, I'm wondering if it's possible to take on these A-Levels and sit the TMUA (and do well).

I was wondering if I begun content 2 months over the summer, if this would be sufficient to score well in the test (which is in mid-October 2024). I understand the test 'uses mathematics you will have already learned in your school studies', but I am unsure if this includes only AS only? This is my presumption as typical students wouldn't have covered the entire specification by October, but I wanted to confirm this too.

Thank you!

I took the TMUA in 2023 and did not get the score I was aiming for because I started preparing too late. To do well, you must start early. Even though you may have been taught the content before, the style of questions are very different to what you are accustomed to seeing. If you start in the summer, you'll have enough time to get a good score.
I recommend this book:
STEP, MAT, TMUA: Skills for success in University
Best of luck.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that. But I'm grateful you were open to sharing your advice, so thank you - best of luck if you plan to take it this year!

How frequent would you suggest revising for such tests, and would it cover solely Y1 content (AS Maths only)?
