How high of a chance does anyone think there is that Petals or Pine show up as a question 5? Obviously there's no way of knowing but hypothetically.

petals would also be a nice q6 bc its very likely one of the elements would be sonority which is easy

question five is stressing me out so much right now, i'm worried i won't be able to think of any wider listening because it's the hardest one to prepare for since it could be on ANYTHING

Petals is acc really easy compared to Vaughan Williams or Psycho which have like 6 movements. It's so hard to remember all of them, it confuses me. I much prefer just revising one song.

Yeah that makes complete sense. I just really can’t stand listening to the piece at all so hope I don’t have to ever again. Definitely wont have to ever again after tomorrow though which i have to admit is very very exciting hahah

i definitely think stravinsky will be a short question as it's the set work with the longest time gap between the last time it was on the paper as a short question. also anticipating psycho and vaughan williams for the essay as they were last on q6 in 2018

I’d be very happy with Stravinsky as a short question if not the essay. Hoping for Debussy, Pine or Bach for the essay probably…

Debussy was last year so highly unlikely seeing as they’ve now given questions for both pieces…Bach I’m not entirely sure about but I’m counting on Berlioz coming up seeing as its only come up once before in 2021

My other predictions are Anoushka Shankar (burn), Herrmann and Williams

I asked my teacher about this but he said its quite easy to just twist it into any time frame you can…if u look at the mark schemes they’re pretty broad and don’t ask u to reference the period u think its from so if for example u hear chromaticism you can link it to something Romantic or be like “the ambiguity thus created here gave way to the later works of Schoenberg that employed atonality etc”

Last year’s was a question on vocal music but because I literally had no wider listening i just used a bunch of impressionist works and got 17/20

This is a really random question but lets say someone got an E or D in the listening paper but they did well in their coursework and they wanted to retake the appraising exam in November, would they have to redo all their coursework and start all over from the beginning. I just want to know what happens if people want to have a second go/chance at the A Level cos I'm so worried about the listening paper and I want to get much higher grade than what I'm predicted!

We did so little on petals in class but everyone’s saying it’ll come up… I’ve hit panic mode now my heart is RACING. And i got a chemistry paper in the morning helpppp

if i were to bet on it i dont think petals would come up this year as it's only one piece and they last asked it only in 2021. That's not a definite but that's my logic towards it
