University of Salford Accommodation

Hey Everyone!

We seem to be getting a lot of questions about accommodation at Salford so we thought it would be handy to keep one general thread for you all!

We work with our accommodation partners Campus Living Villages who manage two accommodation villages: Peel Park Quarter, and John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts.

You can read more about these two types of accommodation on the CLV (Campus Living Villages) website here.

I hope this thread will help and best of luck with finding your accommodation!

💫Here are some of our FAQs:💫

How do I apply for accommodation?
For Peel Park Quarter, you must register in advance before booking - offer holders will be contacted by email when registration opens in late March. Bookings for John Lester and Eddie Colman will open in April and we will be in touch with all offer holders to update you.
Our student accommodation is very popular and gets booked up quickly, so we recommend booking early, even if you’re not 100% sure what your plans are yet. You'll need your student ID number to book a room, this will be included on any of the emails you've received from us about your application.

How does the deposit work?
A deposit of £200 is required to secure your room booking, this must be paid within seven days of booking in order to secure your reservation. If you change your mind, or don't meet your offer conditions to study at Salford, bookings can be cancelled without rental liability until Thursday 22 August.

Can I book a flat with my friends at the University of Salford accommodation?
As you individually self-select rooms on the Campus Living Villages website when accommodation booking goes live, booking the same flat as your friends may be possible but will depend on whether rooms in the same flat are available at the time unfortunately we cannot guarantee this.
Remember, for Peel Park Quarter, you must register in advance and then access to book will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so there is no guarantee that you and your friends can all get access to book.

Can I book a room in a single-sex flat at the University of Salford accommodation?
Once rooms are available to book on the Campus Living Villages website, you’ll be able to filter by single-sex rooms when searching, to see if there are any available.
If you need any support, please contact Campus Living Villages directly by emailing [email protected] or calling 0161 850 6664.

I have a question about my accommodation application who do I contact?
After applying for accommodation, if you have any queries about your application, you can contact CLV directly on +44 (0)161 850 6664 or email [email protected].

What’s the difference between the room types in CLV accommodation?
You can find all of this information on the CLV website, including photos and virtual tours. The majority of rooms on both sites are Bronze.

What are the costs for CLV accommodation?
These are all available on the CLV website.

I want to live in peel park quarter but it’s fully booked sadly. Is there any way I can find a way to live there or can people wants to give away their accommodation because I heard people do that. I really don’t like Eddie Colman and John lester accoms due to bad reviews and can’t afford a private accom!

Hey @Nadsy,

We will release any rooms that become available through cancellation at Peel Park Quarter on the Campus Living Villages website on a weekly basis every Thursday soon after 10 am, starting from Thursday 2 May.

I would just recommend keeping an eye out on the website at these times if you’re still interested in booking Peel Park Quarter.

However, at this time, we are unable to indicate how many rooms may become available each week so we do encourage you to explore other accommodation options. - There are still places available at John Lester and Eddie Colman.

I would say John Lester and Eddie Colman also have plenty of positives. It is a convenient accommodation option for students, located close to the Uni with easy transportation links to Manchester city centre. The accommodation offers communal and study areas, a free on-site gym, and year-round social events for a real student feel/vibe.

For other accommodation options, there are lots of other options to choose from, including a range of purpose-built accommodation sites for students and halls of residence across Salford and Manchester. We’ve listed some of them on our website, and Manchester Student Homes also advertises a range of houses, flats and student accommodation across Greater Manchester. Some examples of other private student halls in the local area include IQ, X1, True Student, Riverside and Tramways.

Hi, I've noticed that the accommodation installment payments are due before Student Finance payments are received (about a week or 2 before) is there anything I can do to change the payment dates? I'm relying on student finance to cover the rent payments, thanks

Hi @Anonymous

Firstly, congratulations on your university place!

Good question! Is it Campus Living Villages you have booked your accommodation with?

I would advise getting in touch directly with the accommodation provider. If you are with Campus Living Villages, then you can contact them by following this link to double-check this

https://campuslivingvillages.com/about/contact-us/

I hope that helps.

If you have any further questions, feel free to get in touch and I’ll be happy to help.

Take Care

Lucy 😊

Hi I am looking for someone to take over my son’s tenancy - any advice? it’s a student room in a shared apartment with 5 other students. My son has the room but
is no longer going to university and so we need a student to take over his tenancy. The apartment is at a place called Riverside in Salford near all the universities in Manchester. It’s a double bed en-suite with shared kitchen and living area. There is also on-site gym, coffee house, laundry, garden and 24/7 security. Are you interested in it? It is £240 per week with all bills included and available from 7th September 2024. I can provide photos if interested and you can visit the website at https://www.crm-students.com/manchester/riverside-house/flexfloorplancomparision/0/I
