Great post as part of the #TSRGoesGreenProject ! We're honoured to have made the cut 🥰

Awareness of and minimising our environmental impact is something near and dear to our hearts💚 We are striving towards a greener and more sustainable campus and education, as much as we can, with our Sustainable Development Goals and engagement with COP27.

There is however, as always, more that can be done and room for improvement!
Congratulations for the hard work and dedication to make the list all - Let's keep going🌍️

The University of Leeds comes 39th on that list. One of its major pitfalls was the 'Ethical Investment' category, which is no surprise given the university is known to have ties to fossil fuel companies and has previously been targeted by Just Stop Oil as a result. Leeds is doing a fair bit already, but there are certainly areas for improvement there.
It surprised me that Keele isn't in the top 10 to be honest, given how much noise it makes about the environment
First on the list :woo:
(Which is interesting considering how often the heating is on - not complaining though 🙂 )

Very proud to make the list! Sustainability is at the heart of life at BU.❤🌍 Our Climate & Ecological Crisis Action Plan (CECAP) target is to achieve net zero emissions by 2030/31.

If you want to learn more about what we do at BU to be a sustainable university, check out this page https://www.bournemouth.ac.uk/about/sustainability

And my university likes to boast about how sustainable they are 🤣😂. Looks like it’s just posters around campus but little to nothing in practice.

3rd class assuming that the website is accurate.

I think that I makes sense though, I can see why and how it does.

It'll be accurate to its own methodology; it all just depends on whether the methodology is considered a sound way to measure sustainability (and to be honest I feel in no position to judge that!).

My university says that they recycle 99% of food waste or something similar, but the bins at university aren’t even separated most of the time (mixed recyclables+general waste goes in the same bin, I have no idea if they separate later on though).

Interesting

I personally don’t care but it’s funny to see universities like mine and Oxbridge bragging about being green whilst being low on the list.

I’m surprised when it comes to some of the universities on this list.
