What a level should I drop???

Hi so I've been debating since the near start of year 12 what a level to drop out of the four that I picked: History, English lit, Physics and Math. I'd say I enjoy History and Physics the most and I know Maths is probably my weakest and therefore least favourite subject but I'm reluctant to drop it as the degree I'm interested in requires it (PPE). Therefore it's between Physics and English Lit. I'm torn because I feel like an essay based combination (Lit, History and Maths) will highlight my writing and analytical skills hence being a better fit in getting me ready for PPE (English is just a more relevant subject) and I feel like if I keep physics it'll purely be for fun (which people have warned me against). I have my y12 mocks soon (which decide predicted grades) and I don't want to do 4 if it's going to hinder my chances at getting the best possible grades. Would appreciate any advice please thankyou!!

Hi,

Because you require maths and (possibly if I interpretated that right) history, you shouldnt drop either of those. I get how you enjoy physics, but if it is pushing you back in the subjects that are going to propell you into uni then I would say drop it, because these 2 years of fun can stop you from getting the degree that you want. And so with that being saidm I would say drop physics and keep lit because it makes certain aspects of yourself stand out. Take everything I say with a pinch of salt though becuase I am also a fellow yr 12 with mocks in 3 weeks (😭😭) so Im not an expert or anything. There is a warwik PPE thread, and idk if you want to go there for uni but overall because its all PPE students/aspiring students they may be more knowledgable than me. If you message on here (Warwick PPE 2024 applicants - The Student Room) they might be able to help you more.

Sorry if that is an incoherent mess, I am currently knackered and recovering from the flu, but I hope it helps even in the slightest.

All the best

Ahh thank you and you're welcome.
And fr it does come down to if you can live without it but also if you can juggle it well with your other a levels because if you can then maybe you could keep it?

Thank you and good luck on your mocks too
