Hi everyone! Making this post to address freshers misinformation that has been going around (particularly WE LOVE company).
To clarify, these events aren't exactly "scams" (sorry for the clickbait!) you can still go and the ticket is valid, but particularly in whatsapp gcs, they are promoting these events HARD and trying to make it seem as if everyone has got them etc etc, so people buy them so they don't feel like they are gonna be lonely or missing out, then they turn out to be dead. Sometimes people are also targeted individually in PMs, where they are asked to join a "big group of people going", again these are just reps trying to get people to buy. They also say they are raising the price to try push people into buying them before they go up, but then never do.
I addressed this on whatsapp gc, but then got removed (clearly they are guilty). I feel that universities should warn applicants of this because it happens every single year, so many people have high expectations for these events then they turn out so bad. Not saying you shouldn't buy, but their refund policy is BS, and the only people saying they have bought it are mostly reps. Wait for official university ones!
I've attached screenshots showing the reps nums + snaps to avoid, and proof that you get removed for warning people, and one particularlly funny screenshot where the admin stops everyone in the gc from talking because of what happened they don't want more people finding out lol.
Hope this post reaches enough people.
