Minimum Maintenance Loan, Despite Studying in London

I have received confirmation that my student loan has been approved (yay), however my maintenance loan is significantly less than expected despite studying in London.

I’m a mature student starting university in September 2024, I won’t be living with either parent, but my maintenance loan is the minimum of £6647.

I’ve checked the SFE calculator and its says that I am entitled to the maximum of £13,348 but alas my confirmation letter (and SFE account) says £6647.

Will my maintenance increase once my place at university is confirmed?

I’m 23, I’ll be 24 when I start university.

I haven’t been asked to supply my parents income as I’m an independent student. I’m currently in the process of having my doctor fill in a form declaring me an independent student as evidence.

Can I ask what changes when I turn 25 ? As I’ll be mid way through the 1st year of university when I turn 25.

But I have an offer from a university in London and am living in London which should entitle me to more (even if I was staying with parents) than the minimum amount.

Do I need to wait for my university to confirm my place in order to receive the minimum for studying inside London ? Or this all contingent on me being assessed as an independent student ?

Ok thanks, clearly there’s been a misunderstanding on my end.

So once my doctor has finished filling in this form and I send it off as evidence of estrangement , SFE will reassess my maintenance loan ?
