Period help ??

Can loosing weight help regulate a period ? I am on the heavier side I’ve never gotten a flowing period only spotting and blood clots .ive went to the endocrinologist and they have told me nothing is wrong so could it be my weight? Worrying that I may be infertile 😕

I have heard that it does but I am not entirely sure.
A close relative of mine was in a similar position, she had very irregular periods, she told the GP the first time, got her blood tests done and everything was normal- was told to eat healthy and lose weight. Over a year later- still with irregular periods, went to the GP again and was told she has PCOS. She is now talking meds and gets regular periods. I am sure the doctor you went to examined you properly but maybe read if you have any symptoms of PCOS and investigate further?

She checked for signs of Pcos but she said everything was fine along with my blood tests also . I also had an ultrasound for my ovaries and uterus and was told everything was also perfect. The only thing she said was I had more testosterone than estrogen.

This is actually normal , I have irregular periods.but ever woman is different.

I recommend not worrying the future problems ,if there is a fertility issue ,you cross that bridge when you get there.

No it doesn't, but again im not a doctor so who knows, but why im saying this because I am of average weight, and yet I had this problem due to malnutrition, and even when I started eating well for two months, that did not fix the problem. try eating healthy, Drinking great amount of water, and exercise, not for weight lose but for your health so you don't have to be hard on yourself but just add these things to your routine gradually. that's if you're not already doing them because your health and eating affect your cycle a lot.
But again, I'm not a doctor, I'm just someone who researches a lot.
So if your period is like this from the starts maybe this is normal? Just don't stress over it too much.

If very overweight it is more likely to help than if your BMI is 26. Have you considered going on the pill to reduce your periods?
