Dropping A-Levels

I want to drop one of my A-Levels (I do four), as I cannot handle the workload and stress, and I am very unhappy in my subject but I'm unsure how to word it without offending / upsetting / seeming rude to the teachers and the sixth form heads.
Any advice?

I would talk to the teacher(s) individually and ask about how they think you're doing in their subject. If they bring anything up about dropping one, don't specifically mention dropping theirs unless they themselves recommend it.

If you can't, talk to the sixth form staff about dropping it. Say you're stressed with the workload of 4 and it's impacting the quality of your work (+ mental health). They may also have comments from teachers or about your progress. They'll be able to tell you if you can drop it (sometimes there's a deadline) and then after, what will happen.

Then, to make if official, email the sixth form team and let them know you want to drop one, reminding them of the previous conversation. If you also want to email the subject teacher(s) that teach what you'll be quitting, say the same thing- whilst they may be disappointed, I'm sure they'd rather you achieve more and feel better emotionally. Just be honest : you're not doing it for them, you're doing it for you.

I hope this helps (:
