BTEC in russell groups

Did anyone manage to get into Russell group Unis with a BTEC alongside A levels .
If so please give me some tips as I honestly those ( and me ) who are in that position are in such a disadvantage .
my main goal is to study Accounting and Finance at KCL or QMUL
I do A level Maths , Economics and BTEC IT

I applied to do Music at York, Manchester, Leeds (Russel Groups) and Huddersfield and Liverpool Hope.
Currently I am doing BTEC Music, A-Level Lit and A-level psych. It still works the same way as having the A-level grade. For the unis I applied to they wanted A-Level music not BTEC but they said that they accepted the triple BTEC. I think that as long as your grades are on track to get a Distinction, then you should be fine. BTECs can seem like they are looked down upon by unis but at the end of the day, they can't dictate what A-level/BTEC you chose to do. Also make sure that your A-level grades are on track predicted grade wise as that will also boost your chances I guess.

Yes I did. I got offers from all of the universities I applied to except Leeds as I am still waiting on their response

Yes, I applied to a Russel group and received an offer with a BTEC and no A levels. It is possible and certainly achievable! Lots of entry requirements for courses state they accept BTECs these days.

I’m predicted Distinction star distinction and a D in sociology. My GCSEs were a mix of 6 and 5s and I got a 7 in maths. I applied to their accounting and finance course so BTECs can still get you into the course you want
