I'm honestly most excited about this paper! I love the Aeneid and really enjoy the Iliad as well. In terms of revision I'm trying to focus more on learning scholar quotes and quotes from the texts that can relate to multiple topics. Good luck everyone!

Same! I am currently doing Odyssey and Aeneid. I have been doing practice paragraphs around themes, timed and lots of essay plans.

hellooo i am doing the odyssey + aeneid!!! really hope that there’s an aeneid question on war or women because those are so fun to write about!!! (and i guess roman glorification is really easy). but save me nisus and euryalus save me save me

I do the Iliad and the Aeneid and I'm praying for the 30m to be about Rome!!!! I love writing about the Aeneid but the Iliad questions bore me so much. I never have anything interesting to say abt them

Same w/ the Odyssey 😭 praying so hard for the Aeneid to be on roman glorification or if it’s propaganda or poetry. So much to write about and the Odyssey is boring as **** no offence Homer.
The Odyssey question last year was so awful - To what extent do you agree that Odysseus’ character is as complex as the plot of the Odyssey? - imagine if it’s just that but rephrased for the Aeneid?? I will actually throw my chair in the exam hall

COMPLEX AS THE PLOT? i would not have survived the exam

hence why im retaking, i did that question last year it was horrendous i didnt know what points to write about because i didn't understand the question and my knowledge on aeneid was not that good so i couldnt do the 30 marker on aeneid instead, but no my knowledge is good on aenied and looking back at the aeneid 30 mark question for 2023, it was amazing but oh well, just have to power through to tuesday. Im learning all my scholarly views and going to do an exam paper. Just remember guys after Tuesday most of won't have to do this again. Stay focused and lets get it done.

I think the 30 marker for Aeneid will be glorification of Rome or something similar, I hope so!!!!

honestly no matter what the aeneid question is you can always link it to augustus or rome. all roads lead to rome!!! literally all hail virgil my man. the other questions for the iliad and odyssey are always so boring but there is so much to debate about the aeneid.

Homeric epic does not have Pallas or Dido so it’s immediately 10x worse. Also Aeneas is just a much more compelling character I feel like he’s so much more nuanced than homeric heroes. Hating his fate yet continuing on or whatever pietas furor etc etc Odysseus would NOT do this **** he’d be like sorry I have to go make out with a goddess or fight a cyclops

yes I actually die for pallas and the reworked catallus simile where he's compared to a drooping lily... one of the most beautiful things Virgil wrote imo. he's tooooo good at making you care about everyone even the quote on quote villains

guys I keep forgetting the scholars for odyssey but I know I will most likely do the 30 marker on Aneieid, so do you guys think I should focus on memorising the scholars for aeneid

hey i did my a level classics last year and i got an A - i was in a similar position i knew i was going to do the odyssey 30 marker bcos im stronger in that area but i learnt about 3 aeneid scholars just to be safe literally the night before or even if u cant rmbr exactly the quote just learn the scholars surnames and be like e.g. jones said xyz bcos it still counts as a scholar quote but yea i would defo prioritise ur 30 marker revision bcos thats where u can bank the most marks
