don’t stress, the examination guidance is for an examiner to google the name of a scholar they don’t recognise- that’s it! you’ll be fine

i have the paper -
10: Panathenaic amphora - 'How useful is Soruce A in telling us about Athena's importance to the Athenians?'
20: 'Participation in state and Panhellenic religious activity was entirely different to that on a household or deme level'
30: 'Xenophanes and Socrates' views on the gods were radical and controversial, and had a great impact on Greek Society' or 'Blood sacrifices were the most important method of honouring and worshipping the gods'

Thank you

I was thought the 10 markers were so good and the short questions were much better than the other papers. 20 marker decent as well and 30 marker, worded a bit convoluted but I think it was decent!

How did you interpret the 'compare to either Delphi or Olympia' I was unsure as to whether it meant compare to only 1 of those or compare it to those rather than any other sanctuaries such as Dodona or Epidaurus etc?? I compared to Delphi and Olympia...

I thought It went quite well, found the wording of the acropolis 30marker a bit ambiguous but other than that okay? what did people put about how else people could show impiety (was like a 2marker)?

I just compared it to Delphi but it was worded really strangely so they might be lenient depending on how many people didn’t understand

how did people find athenian democracy?

I think the POLR exam was pretty decent. the 10 markers were nice, the 20 I didn't have too much to say about Caitline though.. wrote about 5 paragraphs for Cat but feel like I repeated myself a bit. Managed to write better about Cicero's opposition to Caesar. the 30 marker on personal ambition was a blessing, managed to write about multiple individuals. I think I would have ran out of things to say for the Verre's 30 marker

Overall I thought it was a good paper! The 30 marker on whether drama was an effective method for audience critical thinking was a joy, just tons of Aristophanes and then Old Oligarch/ Plato as the other authors  The Cleisthenes/Boule 20 marker was good too!

20 marker I almost misread the question lmao, making us only talk about Catiline and Caesar was annoying . What did you put for the 2nd 10 marker? I ended up talking about Crassus too since it was worded kinda strangly

I do love and relationships and was wondering do we need to use direct quotes? I usually use quotes for Sappho and Ovid but because Seneca and Plato don't have any prescribed sources, are we still expected to directly quote? Before I've said things like, in On Marriage, or explained in Symposium, but do I need to change this?
Seneca you really should have been using direct quotes to get into the higher band

I interpreted it as you're only allowed to chose 1 to compare it with (I remember a big emphasis on the 'OR' between the mentions of Delphi and Olympia, and from what I know of how OCR structures questions, I think it meant 'choose one but not both'). Especially since there's so much taught about the architecture of those 3 specifically

A little late, but pretty good!
The 20 and 30 markers weren't the easiest for me, but they weren't the hardest either. I remember someone here predicting the acropolis coming up, so good for them! I did the Eleusinian Mysteries one because I had like.. 1 scholar quote for the entire acropolis & Delphi/Olympia one, and I had no idea where I'd start with it...

I forgot there was a second 10 marker where you discuss a topic briefly (as in I forgot that sort of question was in the paper, not that I forgot to answer it), because in the other 2 papers it's a literature analysis question. But I liked it because I saw it kinda as a much simpler 20 marker

For impiety 2 mark, 1) murder (when not in war), 2) being in the presence of a dead body (e.g. at a funeral)
