uni best friends

This is gonna sound silly but do you have best friends in university? Or do you just keep the best friends you had previously and you have to make small talk with everyone? I'm scared that i'm going to be stuck with either horrible people or people who have opposite interest to me and as pathetic as this sounds, my university wellbeing will massively depend on this. My chosen course is male dominated which i'm quite scared of so i'm even more scared for my accommodation.

Honestly, everyone’s experience is so different. I personally stayed best friends with my home best friend, i made a few general friends however I found that EVERYONE was nice. Even people I didn’t relate to or have similar interests with were still there in the same boat willing to have conversations. Don’t feel too put down if you don’t make too many friends there, if you have friends at home you still have a support system. However, friends at other universities love their friends there and have made friends for life. Every single person there is only there because they want to be there, it is unlikely you’ll find anyone who is nasty or too antisocial. Please do not worry! I’m a female who did economics and my whole course was pretty much men (I believe 1:5 ratio women to men) even the boys were okay - probably more sociable than the girls truthfully.
