Hi,
I am currently in my third year at the University of Sheffield. I did not go into the Uni accommodation in my first year.
I got into Sheffield through clearing and already had a booking with Student Roost for another city, which they were able to transfer to a site in Sheffield.
There are lots of different accommodation blocks in Sheffield for students, is this what you are looking for or are you looking for non-student accommodation?
Some of the student accommodations you could look at are prestige student living, IQ, homes for students, Student Roost. There are more, I'd recommend just putting Sheffield student accommodation into google, this website lists a lot of different options. https://www.accommodationforstudents.com/sheffield
There are different options you could try, such as a studio, or a smaller flat, which may work better for you and have nicer kitchen situation.
Hope this has been helpful, let me know if you have more questions,
Lizzie (3rd year - BSc Mathematics and Philosophy - University of Sheffield)

Hi,

In my first year, I stayed Allen Court so I was with other first years and we all got on well so we ended up living together in second year. Your social life is what you make of it. It is easy to make friends simply by going to different society events. Also, in first year, most people will be feeling nervous in a new environment for them. So just go to events with an open mind, and you I am sure you will have a great time

Let me know if you have anymore questions!
