A Level FM in one year or two

Hi . Does anyone have any advice on if it is better to do A Level Further Maths in year 12 and 13 alongside normal maths, or do all of maths in year 12 and all of further in year 13? I'm in year 11 trying to choose which sixth form to accept for next year so any advice would be really appreciated . Thank you.

I myself have done all of maths in y12 and all of fm in y13, I think its better, though I can't say exactly why, but it feels like knowing A level maths for a year longer makes you way more confident about the A level exam and content, while fm AS doesn't do the same as its only a small part of the A level further maths exam. It also feels useful to know more maths concepts before starting fm.

I'm doing all maths content in year 12 then starting FM at the end of this year, but I've got friends who do them parallel. I'd recommend doing one then the other, because the FM course expects you to already know the maths content and if you haven't finished maths yet this can be an issue

At my old 6th form the standard thing to do was all of maths in year 12 and all of further maths in year 13

We did single maths year 1 and further maths year 2. It is a lot easier as the single maths learnt in the first year is required in some aspects of the further maths course. I have some mates who did it parallel and they tended to struggle a lot more with the course.

Thank you guys for the help . My friends and parents are encouraging me to stay at my school's sixth form where maths and further are taught parallel but your advice is making me strongly consider moving somewhere else.

Currently do Fm and did Maths in the first year then the whole of fm in y13. I think it is better this way because there are a few concepts that you need from maths in further maths (especially things like differentiation and integration and exponentials etc).
