Durham deferred entry

Hi, I've got an offer from Durham for 2024 entry. I've now decided to take a gap year so want to defer this - does anyone know if I can phone them at this point and ask to defer? Or do I need to wait until results day? Thanks

You can phone then now (well, on Monday from 10am): +44 (0) 191 334 1000. The sooner you ask the better.

Note that this request is sufficient common they they even have a specific section for it on their Changes to your application page. Note that the page says: "Change of year requests are considered for all courses with the exception of Law, History (including joint honours courses with Classics, English, and Modern Languages and Cultures) and courses with a Foundation year. For these departments, a deferral would only be considered if you have mitigating circumstances (such as a significant and evidenced health reason)."

Ask now.

Many Unis will not accept deferral requests close to or on Results Day, and then your only, risky, choice would be to reapply for the following year with no guarantee of a place.
