computer science ocr Programming project

Hi everyone,

I am at a stage where I would have to do the analysis stage of my computer science project.I am planning to do a stock managment system for supermarkets.I feel like i would be able to do it but I am worried that it is too basic and that i may suffer and not do well in the documentation of the project.

Like how would i do the stakeholders bit of the project and gather information from my stakeholders. In this case the stakeholders are employees and supermarkets.

I need help asap

You can do it however you want. It’s all about getting the information you need to come up with some success criteria. So, do some questionnaires, write a list of questions and sit and have a formal/informal interview with your stakeholders, or even just take a bit of what they currently do and how they do it and use that as well. There is no set way of doing this, it’s just about showing you have gotten some feedback so you can write some success criteria

how would i gather stakeholders as they would beneeded for evaluation right? It would need to be complex so how would I applythat to a data base storage system.I just got the new idea of making it a softwarewhere employees interact and do their stockmanagement. So adding networking can addcomplex into it.Over all i am not sure cause i amaimig for the higher band of marks

Stakeholder is just a fancy name for user. So who will be using this piece of software? Think about Tesco online. Is it really just the customer who uses this website? And as soon as you start thinking about that, suddenly your project because very interesting because there are at least two users modifying data that needs to be reflected on both sides in real time.

Good luck!

so should i post surveys and questionnaires for employees and suppliers to maybe answer so that the stock managment software that i will make can allow employees and suppilers to input.

You could do that, or you could think very carefully about who will use your system and what they need it to do.

What does the store manager need to be able to see?
What do the shop floor workers need to do with it?
How can it help a customer?

Hi! Does a stakeholder have to be an actual person or can you invent them/ create a scenario for them to exist in?

They are the people who will interact with your program. The stakeholders of a school are the teachers, the students, the administration staff, the suppliers (paper and equipment) and the parents. You could also argue that local businesses who employ the students, the government who pay for the school and the local community who might use the school's facilities are also stakeholders. They all have a stake in the school.

Who are the stakeholders of an online shop?
